In my observation doves & pigeons are often on or near the sidewalk foraging, rain or not, so why was she “stranded”? I know it would break the haiku mode, but another detail or two would clarify the situation.
You’ve got a point, Christine. She was just sitting there in the rain, just sitting there. Was she tired? Shocked by a spurt of lightening? She wasn’t eating. She wasn’t walking. Just sitting.
